Your data rights
Last updated: June 9, 2026. Looks Back is operated from the EU and follows the GDPR.
Your rights
You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to correct it, to export it in a portable form, to restrict or object to its processing, and to have it erased. You will not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.
How to exercise them
Most of it is self-serve: edit your profile and photos, or delete your account, from your settings. For anything else, email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Legal basis
We process your account data to perform our agreement with you (running your account), and we process technical logs under our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. Publishing the photographs you contribute is done on the basis of the licence you grant when you add them.
A note on people in old photos
Historical photographs sometimes show identifiable people. If you appear in a photo on the archive and want it removed, contact us and we will take it down without requiring a lengthy process.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your data, you may complain to the Croatian data protection authority (AZOP) or your local supervisory authority.
