1. What this is
Looks Back is a service that lets you upload a photograph and run it through one of four specialised AI models (sharpen, colourise, repair, animate). The result is yours. This page sets out what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.
2. Who we are

3. Your account
You may create one account per person. Keep your password to yourself. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Subscription, payment, cancellation
Paid plans are charged monthly through Stripe. You may cancel any time from your account page; access continues until the end of the period you paid for. We do not give refunds for partial months unless required by law.
If your card fails, we will retry over a few days. After that, we will downgrade your account to the Free tier and your photos remain accessible.
5. What you may not upload
- Photographs of other people uploaded for the purpose of impersonation, harassment, or deception.
- Photographs you do not have the right to use.
- CSAM. Doing so will result in immediate account termination and reporting to authorities.
- Content that depicts a real person in a way that could cause them harm.
6. How we treat your photographs
We do not train models on your uploads. We do not sell them. We process them through Replicate, an AI infrastructure provider, which we have configured to delete its working copies within an hour of producing the result. We retain originals and outputs in your account until you delete them — and on cancellation we delete everything within thirty days unless you ask us to do so sooner.
7. AI output: what we do not promise
Colour added to a black-and-white photograph is an estimate. Faces reconstructed from damage are inferred. Animation is invented within constraints. The output is a plausible reconstruction, not a documentary record. Do not treat AI output as forensic evidence.
8. Service availability
We aim for 99% monthly uptime but we are not a hospital. If we go down, we will fix it. If your work is time-sensitive, keep a copy elsewhere.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
10. Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we will email you and post a note here for thirty days before it takes effect.
11. Governing law
Croatian law, exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Zagreb. Where you have non-waivable consumer-protection rights at your place of residence in the EU, those apply.
